Stamps in Monroe County NY - The Monroe County
Financial Assistance Division is responsible for the
delivery of temporary assistance, Medicaid, food stamps and
day care and for ensuring that only persons eligible for
public assistance services are provided such aid. This
division also includes employment, domestic violence and
managed health care services. Financial Assistance services
are provided in the form of cash, rent, utilities,
transportation, food/nutrition, housing, health insurance,
child care, job search support, and job skills training to
those who meet eligibility requirements.

Energy Assistance Program [HEAP] - HEAP is a
federally funded program that issues heating benefits to
supplement a household’s annual energy cost. HEAP also
offers an emergency benefit for households in a heat or heat
related energy emergency. Additionally, HEAP offers a
furnace repair and/or replacement benefit for households
with inoperable heating equipment.

Healthy New York - is an affordable health
insurance program available to eligible individuals without
health insurance. Family coverage is available. You must
meet the eligibility guidelines of the program. Students do
not have to include their parents' income when calculating
household income. Healthy NY can be purchased from any HMO
in NYS. Even though Health NY benefits are the same at each
HMO, premiums vary. To obtain current premium rates, contact

Family Health Plus NYS - NYS managed care
health insurance program for uninsured adults (19-64) who
are not eligible for the Medicaid program because of income
or resources. Family Health Plus is available to single
adults, couples without children, and parents with limited
income who are residents of New York State and are United
States citizens or fall under one of many immigration
categories.
Child Health Plus NYS - is a free or low-cost
health insurance plan funded by New York State covering
children 0-18 years of age for inpatient, outpatient, and
dental services. Children under the age of 19 who are not
eligible for Medicaid and who have limited or no health
insurance may be eligible for Child Health Plus. The cost of
coverage is based on family income.
