SRP of the Year 2011-12 Paula Schroth,
Transportation Head Bus Driver; Nov. 15 SRP Recognition Day
in NYS
Congratulations to the SRP Professional
of the Year for 2011-12: Paula Schroth,
Transportation Department Head Bus Driver, with presenter s Karen Jones
and Kathy Diedrich, at right. The award was presented
September 6, 2011 at the annual staff convocation at Hilton
High School.

A
Transportation Department bus driver since 1988, Paula
Schroth became Head Bus Driver in 1997. "I deal with parent
calls, sub-scheduling, the Transfinder software for route
scheduling, field trip and sports scheduling and I'm on call
for any busing issues after hours," she said. Paula is also
a 19-A bus driver trainer and can do road tests as well as
defensive driving tests with new drivers. She holds a
CDL-B license.
Finalists were: Kathy Neefe,
teacher's assistant at the Village Elementary
School and Ellen Reitter, Main Office
Secretary at Hilton High School.
The Hilton Central
School District School-Related Professional of the Year
honors the exceptional skills and initiative shown by Hilton
staff members. Nominees are dues paying members of the
Hilton Central School Employee Association [HCSEA] for at
least five years prior to nomination. Applicants are judged
on performance of duties, handling of an unusual assignment,
and how they improve the image of the school related
professional according to SRP of the Year Committee Chair
Karen Jones, HCSEA member and secretary in the Northwood
Elementary School Guidance Department.
The SRP of the Year Award
is presented to a staff member who displays exceptional
skill and dedication on the job and promotes positive
relationships with parents, students, co-workers and the
community. Recipients receive an “Outstanding
Employee Award” certificate and a pin to recognize their
achievements. Those staff members eligible
are: Teacher's Aide/Teaching Assistant; Custodial/Maintenance/
Buildings and Grounds; Support
Service - Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Nurse,
Technical Support, etc.; Secretarial/Clerical [with the
exception of confidential secretaries]; Transportation.
NOTE: kitchen workers,
confidential secretaries and administrators are not
eligible.
