at ARTISANworks Art education develops
self-esteem, appreciation of the work of others,
self-expression, cooperation with others, and critical
thinking skills, skills vital to the success of our
future leaders --- our children … The arts enrich our
lives and enrich our learning. And the arts are a
valuable learning tool that reinforces the other
disciplines, like reading, writing, social studies,
science and math says the
Council of Art Education.

Traveling Exhibit from Teacher’s Discovery
on
display at Northwood Elementary School in March 2010 celebrates
March as Art in Our Schools month. The impressive panels
bring Van Gogh’s artwork to life through color and
brushstroke. Students created our own "Northwood Starry
Night" which each student in the school created a
special part of the sky. For more:
NW Art News David Puls, of Animatus
Studios worked with 18 Quest Elementary
intermediate students in a Animation Workshop series
through Young Audiences of Rochester with cut-paper
animation films that focus on the re-telling of an
important event from American History. The
Memory Project Students in Mrs. Jan Dentino’s
International Baccalaureate Visual Art class have the
special opportunity to participate in the worldwide art
project termed
The Memory Project.
