Hilton High School Chorale and Women's
Chorus receive Superior Gold Ratings; asked to participate
in "Singers" at Carnegie Hall
Congratulations to the Hilton
High School Women’s Chorus and Chorale which
traveled to New York City April 28-29, 2012 to
compete in the
Heritage Music Festival held at the
Riverside Church in New York City. The event
featured choral competition and adjudication. The
Hilton HS Chorale (mixed group) placed second in
their division and the Hilton HS Women’s Chorus
placed first in their division. Both choirs
who participated scored Superior Gold ratings (score
of 90+). The Chorale's average was 95.3 and the
Women’s average was 92.3. The Chorale also received
a trophy for an adjudicator’s award for a cumulative
score 95+. "We are very proud of our music
department and our choral groups certainly proved it
to others as well with this outstanding performance
in one of the top-rated events in the country for
vocal music and certainly in a premiere venue," said
vocal music teacher and group director Adam Klock.
"Both groups were again asked to
participate in the Singers at Carnegie Hall," he added.
"Perhaps even more importantly we are proud that no matter
where we went and with whom we dealt with on this trip,
hotel staff, event staff, bus drivers, and chaperones were
impressed with how our Hilton students conducted themselves
and how polite to everyone they were. Mrs. Christine
Blonsky and I are extremely proud to work with these
students every day. Thank you all for your continued
support of the music program."
While students were in New York, they
enjoyed free time in midtown Manhattan, a dinner cruise on
the Hudson, a Broadway Workshop with members of Broadway
shows, the Broadway Show “Sister Act."
