Hilton Winter Drumline performs at
NYSSMA Winter Conference Dec. 4 in Rochester
The Hilton Winter Percussion
Drumline has been celebrated as the NYS champion thirteen
times. With shows based on the music of composers
like Bizet, Copeland, and Gershwin, the group has also won
numerous regional competitions in places like Coatesville,
PA; Troy, MI; and Trumbull, CT; and has placed as a
finalist in Winter Guard International World Championships
in Dayton, OH. The Hilton Winter Drumline is a member of the
New York State Percussion Circuit, and competes at
membership tournaments throughout Western New York,
including a competition hosted each winter at Hilton High
School. Drumline members are also members of the Hilton
Crimson Cadets Marching Band. Between 25-30 students
participate in Drumline each year. For more information

Hilton CSD's award-winning
Percussion Drumline performed Dec. 4, 2010 at the
annual New York State School Music Association
[NYSSMA] Winter Conference as part of the a clinic
presented by Hilton CSD Music Faculty member and
Drumline Director Tim Stodd.
"The session on winter marching
percussion was held in the Ballroom at the Rochester Plaza
Hotel and the 20 member group [grade 8-12] was the featured
ensemble, Mr. Stodd said. "Hilton’s performance marked
the first time the NYSSMA Winter Conference has included a
drumline as part the annual event. The clinic session was
well attended and the students performed wonderfully!"
Participating in the NYSSMA performance
were Hilton Drumline members: Tommy Avangelista, Jeff Clark,
Joe Distefano, Zack DiVasta, Josh Hagen, Elise Jett, Renee
Jett, Mike Johnson, Josh Mensing, Josh Mooney, Courtny
Mount, Allysa Motyl, Dylan Niver, Ashley Shtoyko, Sarah
Spencer, Samantha Testa, Kaitlyn Tyrrell, and Mike Wall.
