Hilton Educator Aggie Seneway receives
Genesee Valley Association "Service to E ducation"
Award
Hilton Central School District Board of
Education member Aggie Seneway's passion and a fervor for
helping children and detecting injustice has not gone
unnoticed in the forty-plus years she has been a teacher,
administrator and now board member of several area agencies
and non-profit organizations all aimed at improving people's
lives. A Hilton resident, originally from Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, Ms. Seneway's impact has been extensive and
was recognized recently in an award.
Genesee Valley Chapter of the
Association for Supervision, Curriculum and Development on
May 6, 2010 honored Hilton CSD's Aggie Seneway with the
annual ASCD Service Award. In introducing Ms. Seneway,
Hilton Superintendent of Schools David Dimbleby said, "In my
25+ years in the profession, I cannot think of anyone more
deserving. I have known and worked with Aggie Seneway in a
variety of settings and capacities for almost 25 years. Her
service to education is both extensive and powerful. "
"Aggie's professional career includes
multiple administrative and teaching positions she has held
over a 40-plus year journey in education - as an elementary
and special education teacher in rural, urban and suburban
settings, secondary and central office administrator and
professor of higher education," Mr. Dimbleby said.
"Aggie's passion for service includes local organizations
such as her membership of Lion’s Club, the Salvation Army,
Park Ridge Youth Outreach, Hilton Federal Credit Union and
Educational Foundation, a board member on the Hilton Credit
Union, Park Ridge Youth Outreach, Rochester Advocacy Center,
Hilton School District, Southeast Ecumenical Society,
Foodlink and Monroe County School Board Council. Aggie is
also pursuing her doctoral degree out of her love for
learning and means of improving herself to better serve
those she works within the our profession."
