Hilton Village Elementary Physical Education Teacher Kim Bellnier announces the “PLAY FOR FA” night set for Wednesday, Jan. 20, at three schools in the District.  "FA stands for Friedreich’s Ataxia which is a degenerative neuromuscular disease," Mrs. Bellnier said.  "You can learn more about FA at the event. 100% of proceeds will go directly to FARA – the Friedreichs’s Ataxia Research Alliance. Website: www.curefa.org  "The event is from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.  Grades K-2 at the Quest Elementary Gym Activity Stations; Grades 3-6 at the Village-HJ  and JU Gyms: rollerblading; Grades 5-8 at MW POOL: free swim!  Have fun while raising money to find a cure for this disabling, life-shortening disease!  Any K-8 student in the district is invited, from all buildings! Come exercise and show off some of what you have learned in class!"

The student who raises the most money from each building wins a prize according to Mrs. Bellnier.  "During this family fitness night, we will have a variety of activities set up in the two gyms. Please do not drop off your K-2 child, but stay and play together!  If you choose to collect donations before the event, just bring your sponsor sheets and sponsor donations to the event. You could also just bring your own donation at the event and not collect from others. ($5-$10 per family suggested) All donations will be sent to FARA," she said.

Among the activities in the school buildings will be: Quest Gym for grades K-2 - Alphabet Action Game with Prizes!  Run, skip, gallop around the letters.  When the music stops, stand on a letter.  If your letter is called, you win!  Exercise Balls:  Get a good workout using our exercise balls!
