Hilton High School Jazz Ensemble musicians to play at Rochester Music Hall of Fame April 29, 2012 at Kodak Hall, Eastman Theatre

Hilton High School Jazz Ensemble members, Mike Wall, bass, and bari sax player Chris Marsaw, have been selected to perform with an All-Star Band Sunday, April 29, at the Rochester Music Hall of Fame awards to be held at Kodak Hall, Eastman Theatre, according to Jazz Ensemble Director and HHS teacher Jared Streiff. 

"There is a wonderful buzz in the musical community as some of Rochester's musical legends will be honored," say organizers. "At the beginning of the ceremony that evening, a jazz band comprised of Rochester-area high school musicians will perform a four-minute medley of songs which represent four of the the inductees.  Paul Gaspar was commissioned to arrange a medley for the occasion."

The event will be held Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 8 pm at Kodak Hall, Eastman Theatre.  Selected students are: Alto Sax Danny Raycraft, Fairport, and Ryan Vane, Gates-Chili; Tenor Sax Matt Sieber-Ford, SOTA, and C.J. Ziarniak, Aquinas; Bari Sax Chris Marsaw, Hilton; Trumpet Alex Kuvulich, Spencerport, Evan Lane, Pittsford-Sutherland, Nick Grau, Fairport, and Isak Leo, Eastridge; Trombone Sean Reid, Fairport, Adam Jongsma, Spencerport, Philip Glick, Victor; Bass Mike Wall, Hilton; Drums Ryan Muchard, Greece-Athena; Guitar Jon Covach, Pittsford-Sutherland; Percussion Dyami Santiago, SOTA; Piano Anthony Gabiele, Fairport; and Flute Andrea Howe, Spencerport.
