Congratulations to the Hilton Cadet Hockey Team. On Monday night they defeated Pittsford 5-2 to secure the first Sectional Championship in program history. They will face West Genesee out of Section III in regional play on Saturday at Lakeshore Rinks. Madison Murphy, Sophia Meagher, and Naomi Rosario were recognized for exceling academically and for their leadership in extracurricular and volunteer activities. Congratulations to Hilton High School student Samantha Korzenieski who was awarded a scholarship from the Hilton Networking Group to attend the Golisano Institute’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA)—a nationally recognized program that empowers students to develop, refine, and pitch their own business ventures. On January 9, representatives from Hilton High School and the Hilton Networking Group gathered to celebrate this achievement with a ceremonial scholarship presentation—complete with a “big check” moment to mark the occasion.

The Hilton Swim program honored a special individual last night during its meet with Churchville Chili. The majority of the crowd was wearing shirts in memory of Kris Nettnin, a parent of a senior member on the team and a leader in the Hilton Area Swim Team. Kris passed away last February after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Class of 2026-it is officially your year! This afternoon, the senior tee shirt was installed in the foyer at the High School as class officers and senior members of the student council looked on. Only 173 days until graduation!
On Tuesday, December 16, ten students from Hilton High School’s newly established DECA chapter competed in the DECA NYS Region #10 High School Competition, hosted by the Rochester Institute of Technology. In this fast-paced event, students participated in role-play scenarios where they presented business strategies to local business leaders serving as judges. Hilton’s Ryleigh Lent stood out among the competitors, earning a spot at the New York State Career Conference this March for her performance in the Quick Service Restaurant Management series.

Congratulations to High School junior Ben Humprhies who is participating this weekend in a three-day long NYSSMA All-State Festival in the Vocal Jazz Ensemble. The NYSSMA All-State program is New York's premier music recognition for top high school musicians who excel in rigorous auditions, earning them spots in elite All-State ensembles. It's a highly competitive, year-long process involving district recommendations and perfect or near-perfect scores (99/100) on NYSSMA Level 6 (the highest level) auditions at spring festivals, culminating in a celebrated state-level performance.

A big thank you to Dr. Darren Lipomi, 2001 Hilton graduate who is currently the Chair of the Department of Chemical and Sustainability Engineering at the University of Rochester. Dr. Lipomi spent time on Friday and today speaking to science classes about the path he took and some of the amazing projects he is currently involved in.
