Today we celebrate Hilton graduates Will Caruso and Lucas Edsall, and Michael Coval and Alyssa Almekinder, who are working as machine operators at Sydor Optics and attending MCC majoring in optics. The grads took the Introduction to Optical Technology course at Hilton High School, which opened the door to this exciting field. Hilton High School also offers career fairs where students can get introduced to optics companies and then take advantage of job shadowing opportunities. Once hired, they may even be able to get their college courses paid for. Ann Marie Graham, Sydor Human Resources manager, said that the Hilton grads they have hired have a good work ethic. We are proud of our grads!

Hilton CSD joins the digital commemoration #RemembertheSky as we mark the 22nd anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. This digital commemoration is inspired by the clear blue sky that was present in New York City & across the country on 9/11, as well as by Spencer Finch’s art installation in the 9/11 Memorial Museum. His artwork, “Trying to Remember the Color of the Sky on That September Morning,” is comprised of 2,983 watercolors — each a unique shade of blue — a tribute to the enormity of collective loss and the individuality of each of those who were taken from us far too soon. #neverforget911
