Bright and early this morning, Northwood advanced band students traveled to the High School to practice with the Hilton High School Wind Ensemble! Not only is this a learning experience for the younger musicians, but a chance to experience the wonderful opportunities ahead if they continue to play and practice their instruments.

Students in Candice Hudson’s English as a New Language class at Northwood decorated their classroom with books and beautiful lanterns from home in preparation for Ramadan. The Muslim students and their families fast from sunrise to sunset during this holy time, which begins the evening of Sunday, Mar. 10 and goes until Tuesday, Apr. 9. The class also read the book Lailah’s Lunchbox: A Ramadan Story by Reem Faruqi. The story is about a girl who moves to a new country and worries that her classmates won’t understand why she doesn’t join them in the lunchroom.
