Talk about a sweet way to spread kindness! At Merton Williams the SADD / FUN club joined up with the FAC's club, and the students showed kindness by making yummy cupcakes and delivering them to all the staff at the school.

A staff member wanted to highlight Art Wheat, who is not just a fellow employee, but also her daughters' bus driver.
"Mr. Wheat attended the musical at St. Lawrence School to cheer on his students which goes above and beyond! This performance was in the evening, and we appreciated him taking the time to support his students. He even had each student who rides his bus sign his program! Our girls love seeing his smiling face each morning and look forward to telling him about their school days each afternoon. He is truly a gem!!"

Time for another shoutout, this time it's for Kelly O'Brien and Kearsyn Zilnik. Here's what one of their co-workers had to say about them:
Kelly and Kearsyn demonstrate unwavering integrity through their honest approach with staff and students, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality. As invaluable assets to the High School, they consistently go above and beyond for every person who walks through their door. Even when buried in paperwork, they lead with a "people-first" mindset, intuitively pausing their tasks to recognize that a student’s safety, growth, and well-being depend on their care. We are incredibly fortunate to have this dynamic duo whose dedication ensures a welcoming environment for our staff and most of all our students.

Chris Monfiletto coached the Cadet Hockey team to a sectional title for the first time in school history, but that's not why he recently received a shoutout. It was for the extra steps he takes to make sure the program is as inclusive as possible.

Ella does everything she can to help her fellow students and make the school a better place.

Thank you to all of the students and families who donated to the Merton Williams spring food and personal item drive to support the Hilton Food Shelf as part of our IB service-learning project. They collected over 600 items and teachers raised over $500 as part of their basket raffle. The Hilton Food Shelf supports over 200 families within the Hilton School District boundaries, so all donations and money directly help others within our community! The Hilton Food Shelf is located in the Hilton Community Center on Henry Street in the village and accepts donations year-round.

His Integrity shines through his consistent, honest approach to building trust with students and colleagues alike. He demonstrates People First by prioritizing student wellbeing and creating a safe space where every student feels seen and supported, going above and beyond to ensure no one falls through the cracks. His Welcoming & Affirming nature is evident in the strong relationships he cultivates across our school, making both students and staff feel valued and included. Mike also embodies Lifelong Learning by continuously seeking innovative ways to support our community and district, never settling for the status quo and always looking for opportunities to grow and improve our school culture. It was an afternoon of fun competition between the classes and faculty as the High School enjoyed a pep rally before heading off on Spring Break. You can see pictures from the assembly here: https://hiltonschools.smugmug.com/2025-2026/High-School/Spring-Pep-Rally

Roxanne consistently demonstrates a strong People First mindset. She prioritizes the well-being of her students, cultivating a classroom environment where they feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn. Her commitment to engagement is evident in the creative and thoughtful learning experiences she designs, always seeking new ways to keep students actively involved.
As a Grade Level Leader, Roxanne models quiet, steady leadership. She approaches change with professionalism and positivity, providing reassurance and practical support to her colleagues. When the Science of Reading was introduced at Grade 2, she proactively created small-group instructional kits for her team—personalized in each teacher’s favorite color—to help ease the transition and reduce stress during a period of significant instructional shift.
Roxanne is a tremendous asset to Village Elementary, the second-grade team, and the greater Hilton community. Her dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to students truly set her apart. I am so thankful for her sense of humor, her expertise and her thoughtfulness toward others.
