Last day of school means the last day of sixth grade for the class of 2030. Northwood held its Moving On Ceremony today-next stop, Merton Williams!
According to her colleagues, "Julie demonstrates all four of our intentional values daily. She is always working to meet the needs of her students. She plans diligently and creates interactive and exciting experiences for her class that connect to content but also engage and inspire. She is an incredible colleague, always pouring her best into everything she does. She is not only an asset to our building and a fantastic teacher, but also a wonderful and thoughtful person."
UPK students at Village Elementary from Mrs. Kirsch and Mrs. Parina’s class had some special guests at their moving up ceremony. Superintendent Kosiorek and Assistant Superintendent Dale were there to congratulate them on receiving their preschool diplomas.
Hey, did you hear the news? The class of 2036 is finishing up kindergarten! QUEST Elementary held its moving up ceremony today.
Last week Mr. Weber's Music Essentials class put on a great performance of "Under the Sea Adventures." The kids nailed their performances of songs like Fast Car, Here Comes the Sun, and the theme from SpongeBob SquarePants!
As we shift to the final days before summer break, the weather this week has forecasted very warm temperatures. As we monitor the heat index, our district always takes precautions to ensure students and staff are safe and comfortable. Please be aware of the following:
• All our schools have air-conditioned areas which can be used to get away from the heat for classrooms that do not have AC.
• We will limit or cancel outdoor activities if the temperature becomes too high.
• All our buildings have water bottle filling stations and will encourage everyone to drink lots of water.
In addition to trying to make our buildings as comfortable as possible, please remember to dress your children in light, comfortable clothing, and provide them with a water bottle for use at school.
We will continue to do everything in our power to keep our staff and students as comfortable as possible in the coming days. For information specific to your child’s building, please contact their school directly.

A great tradition continued at Northwood this morning-the annual Flag Day celebration. Thanks to everyone who helped out, especially members of the Hiscock-Fishbaugh American Legion Post, State Assemblyman Josh Jensen and our amazing students!

This week students from Ammie Cummings and Allison Cring's class at Village Elementary put their creative inventions to the test in front of a Shark Tank panel. They included safer dog leashes, a baby holder, a combination hairbrush and spray bottle, and a pop-up soccer goal.
The Board of Education recognized the Class of 2024 IB Diploma candidates and the students who earned Valedictory Honors at last night's BOE meeting. Congratulations to these outstanding scholars.
The final day of school for our seniors meant a final time to go back to schools where it all began for a lot of them. The Class of 2024 Senior Walk!
