How had Doug demonstrated the characteristics of welcoming and affirming and/or curious, not judgmental? A colleague writes, “Doug is the backbone of alternative education. He is the teacher every student in the room can consistently rely on for a laugh, good advice, or accountability. You can tell he enjoys working with every student that comes through the door. He will go out of his way to help anyone who needs it.”

To celebrate the 30 million bushels of apples New York produces each year, our schools participated in the annual Big Apple Crunch. FarmOn! partnered with local growers to provide the apples to the students to take a big bite simultaneously on Thursday at 2 p.m. The high school even produced a video including the many uses for apples! https://youtu.be/63SkpQmOTUc?feature=shared #BigAppleCrunch #CrunchChallenge @NYSEDNews
