Hats off to more of our Hilton graduates working at Hilton High School! #CadetNation

Shout out to all of our custodians for their hard work every day!

Mrs. PJ creates an environment of trust & collaboration in her classroom. Students support each other & show excitement & curiosity about their differences by asking each other questions & making connections. From day one, she teaches her students to be curious, not judgmental.

At last night's meeting, the Board of Education recognized Teacher of the Year Laurie Steele-Sperber and School Related Professional Claudia Engel, along with all of the nominees. Read more: https://www.hilton.k12.ny.us/article/1233030 https://www.hilton.k12.ny.us/article/1231444

Today we celebrate Hilton graduates Will Caruso and Lucas Edsall, and Michael Coval and Alyssa Almekinder, who are working as machine operators at Sydor Optics and attending MCC majoring in optics. The grads took the Introduction to Optical Technology course at Hilton High School, which opened the door to this exciting field. Hilton High School also offers career fairs where students can get introduced to optics companies and then take advantage of job shadowing opportunities. Once hired, they may even be able to get their college courses paid for. Ann Marie Graham, Sydor Human Resources manager, said that the Hilton grads they have hired have a good work ethic. We are proud of our grads!

QUEST held their "Lunch with a Loved One" this week - a longtime tradition where students can invite a loved one to lunch! Afterwards, families visited the Book Fair - a great opportunity to stock up on books for the READ A THON to raise money for field trips & activities! Thank you QE PTSA for all you do to make these fun activities possible!

Seventh grade FaCS classes are setting their table for success! Teacher Claire Drexler took to heart Superintendent Dr. Casey Kosiorek’s Opening Day message about building an organizational culture that puts people first and provides a sense of safety and belonging. Together with FaCS teachers Anna Murrer and Megan Peterson, they created a “table” across several bulletin boards outside of their classrooms and had students write their recipes for success on paper plates. “Incorporating the recipe idea supports our health sciences curriculum and goal setting,” said Drexler. “These students are our family and we want our classrooms to be their comfort zone where they feel a sense of belonging.” Shown are (l-r) Cole Lenzi, Claire Drexler, Henrey Hunsinger, Ayden Jones, Evan Smith, Special Education Teacher Jamie Melos, and Megan Peterson.

Welcome to our newest teaching staff! #Welcoming #Affirming #CadetProud

The Ride for Missing Children made a special stop today during their annual Rochester ride – QUEST Elementary! Students lined the sidewalk holding signs with encouraging messages and cheered LOUDLY as the cyclists passed by. What started as a small group of bicyclists that hoped to raise awareness for the plight of one missing child has grown into the biggest annual fundraiser for The National Center For Missing & Exploited Children.

Charlene is patient & kind with every student who walks in her classroom. She is always there to assist if a problem arises. She cares about her students' success & always reminds them of that! Charlene is the definition of #Affirming.

Middle & High School students enjoyed this delicious lunch today - all from NYS products! The grant funded program, titled NYS Farms to Schools, brings NYS products and food to our cafeterias and is a win-win for schools, NYS businesses & farms!

Congratulations to senior Elise Woods on receiving the 2023 College Board
National African American Recognition Award (NAARA) and National Indigenous Award (NIA). The College Board National Recognition Programs celebrate students' hard work in high school and showcase their strong academic performance. The academic honors for rural area, Black, Indigenous, and/or Latino students are an opportunity for students to share their strong academic achievements with colleges and scholarship programs that are seeking to recruit diverse talent.

Hilton CSD joins the digital commemoration #RemembertheSky as we mark the 22nd anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. This digital commemoration is inspired by the clear blue sky that was present in New York City & across the country on 9/11, as well as by Spencer Finch’s art installation in the 9/11 Memorial Museum. His artwork, “Trying to Remember the Color of the Sky on That September Morning,” is comprised of 2,983 watercolors — each a unique shade of blue — a tribute to the enormity of collective loss and the individuality of each of those who were taken from us far too soon. #neverforget911
